Work: I've spent many years across more industries than most people would rationally attempt, and more kinds of work than any single title can neatly hold. Magazines, agencies, startups, Fortune 500 companies, a Fortune 1 company, a crypto firm, a whisky brand, a tech giant, a pasta company. The category, the medium, the industry. None of it has ever been the point. The point has always been the same. Make it sharper. Make it more alive. Make it more itself. Make it mean something. Build it if it doesn't exist. Fix it if it's broken. Start over if that's what it takes. No matter what, leave it better than you found it.
And while I care deeply about the work, the best part of the job has always been the people making it. Building teams that trust each other, protecting them from the noise, and creating the conditions for good people to do the best work of their lives. That part rarely shows up in a portfolio, but it's the part that matters most to me.
